Emulation Assignment

The photographer I chose to emulate is Troy Paiva. He shoots most of his photographs during the evening and the nightfall. He also uses a great sense of light in his photography. I found his work fascinating because of not just what he photographed but the kind of lighting he used for each of his photographs. And I also noticed each of his photographs have their very own unique look to it because of the many variety colors of lighting he displays on his night photography.

Here is some of Troy Paiva's interesting work:

The Decisive Moment

One of the strongest decisive moments I saw that Garry Winogrand had photographed which caught my eye was a young child holding a gun towards you while a child next to him on his left hand side looked as if he was trying to stop him by putting his hand over his arm. I can not fully tell that the gun the kid is holding is real or fake (most likely real though) I feel it has a strong decisive moment of the kid getting ready to pull the trigger and the child next to him stopping him in his tracks. I feel this plays a real interesting moment in the entire photograph.

These are more photographs of the decisive moment by the same photographer Garry Winogrand.

Dream

The dream assignment I thought was very interesting. I stumbled upon a photograph that really had caught my attention. In the picture it shows two tree trunks that seem to have their own unique shape to them on how they are positioned. The one to the left looks as if it is falling an the one to the right has an interesting bend to it. What caught my attention the most was the white leaves and the people who look like the size of ants in the picture. I think it made the picture mysterious and looked as if you are dreaming. I believe this photograph plays a good role as a dream. This image belongs to Studio Beck Designs.
